Mr. Davies reconstructed Lexie's ACL in May 2022 when she was almost 15 years old. Lexie was rigorous with her rehabilitation and worked hard to rebuild her physical strength. In September 2024, she undertook the Duke of Edinburgh Gold expedition, a five-day trek and camp through the Snowdonia area of Wales. This was just a warm-up, though, as in October 2024, having just turned 17, she travelled to Nepal with her father and hiked to Everest Base Camp. Lexie embarked on the 12-day, 120km hike, starting at 2,200 meters and ascending to 5,364 meters (17,600 feet) above sea level. There is a reasonable amount of descent on the “accent days” as you cross the valleys, it’s called the “Napali flat”, this takes a significant toll on the knees and supporting muscles as it’s a mix of uneven steps on pathways and rough uneven ground, Lexie had ensured she maintained her rehabilitation fitness and took it all in stride (pun intended) without encountering a single issue.
"This was a life changing experience that would not have been possible without Mr Davies support and skills as a surgeon, he truly enabled her to change her life. This is a true testament to both Lexie and Mr. Davies!" - TESTIMONIAL FEB 2025
