Children’s health
Conditions affecting children’s bones, joints and movement can look different from adult conditions. Some need urgent assessment, particularly:

Severe pain after injury
Visible deformity after a fall

How I use AI in my practice
I use AI-assisted software to help me produce clinic letters and notes. I want to be open about that, so here is exactly what it does and, just as importantly, what it does not do.
What it is used for
After your consultation, I use an ambient scribe dictation and drafting software to capture what was discussed and turn it into a first draft of your letter. It is a tool for writing things down more accurately and more quickly, in the same way a medical secretary or a dictation system has always been.
What it is never used for
AI does not diagnose you. It does not decide on your treatment. It does not decide whether you need surgery, an injection, a scan or nothing at all. Every clinical judgement in your care is mine, made in the consulting room with you.
Every letter is checked
No letter leaves my practice without me reading it in full. I correct it, I amend it, and I approve it. I am professionally and legally responsible for everything written in your letter, exactly as I would be if I had typed every word myself.
Your information
The software I use is through Carebit (my patient management system), which processes information [in the UK / EEA] under a written data processing agreement and appropriate security standards. Your information is not used to train AI models. It is handled under the same duty of confidentiality as the rest of your medical record, and in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
If you would rather I did not use it
Please just say so, at any point. If you would prefer your consultation was not recorded or processed in this way, tell me or my secretary and I will document your visit conventionally instead. It will make no difference to your care and I will not ask you to justify it.
If you spot a mistake
Letters written by humans contain errors too, and I would always rather know. If anything in your letter looks wrong, please contact my secretary Debbie and I will correct the record
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mr Nev Davies and Davies Williams Surgical Services Limited are not liable for any loss or damage, direct, indirect, consequential, or otherwise arising from your use of this website, your reliance on its content, or your inability to access it.
